Modern Slavery Statement
Voluntary Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
Best4Business Accountants is committed to conducting business ethically, responsibly and with integrity. We recognise the importance of preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all aspects of our business and supply chains.
Although Best4Business Accountants is not currently required to publish a Modern Slavery Statement under Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, as our turnover is below the statutory threshold, we have chosen to publish this voluntary statement to demonstrate our commitment to responsible business practices and to provide transparency to our clients, suppliers, employees and other stakeholders.
Our Business
Best4Business Accountants is a UK-based accountancy and business advisory practice providing a range of professional services, including accountancy, taxation, payroll, bookkeeping, business advisory and outsourced finance support.
Our Supply Chains
Our supply chain is relatively straightforward and consists primarily of:
- Professional software and technology providers;
- Office equipment and stationery suppliers;
- Professional advisers;
- Training providers;
- Recruitment agencies;
- Facilities and office service providers; and
- Other professional service organisations.
We recognise that the risk of modern slavery can vary across different sectors and geographical locations and seek to work with suppliers who share our commitment to ethical business practices.
Our Commitment
Best4Business Accountants has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, forced labour, human trafficking and all forms of exploitation.
We are committed to:
- conducting business with honesty and integrity;
- complying with all applicable laws and regulations;
- promoting ethical working practices;
- treating all employees fairly and with respect;
- supporting equal opportunities and diversity; and
- encouraging responsible procurement throughout our business.
Due Diligence
As part of our supplier onboarding and ongoing business relationships, we seek to:
- work with reputable suppliers;
- assess suppliers where appropriate based on the nature of the services provided;
- encourage suppliers to operate appropriate employment practices;
- raise concerns where unethical practices are identified; and
- review supplier relationships where material risks are identified.
Given the nature of our business, we consider the overall risk of modern slavery within our direct operations to be low. Nevertheless, we remain committed to maintaining appropriate oversight of our supply chain.
Policies and Governance
Our commitment to preventing modern slavery is supported by our wider governance framework, including policies relating to:
- Ethical business conduct;
- Equality, Diversity and Inclusion;
- Whistleblowing;
- Anti-Bribery and Corruption;
- Information Security and Data Protection; and
- Recruitment and employment practices.
These policies help promote a culture of integrity and accountability throughout the firm.
Staff Awareness
We expect all employees to uphold our ethical standards and to report any concerns relating to unlawful or unethical behaviour.
Employees are encouraged to raise concerns through management without fear of retaliation. Any concerns received will be treated seriously and investigated appropriately.
As our business continues to grow, we will review opportunities to further enhance staff awareness of modern slavery risks and responsible procurement practices.
Assessing Effectiveness
We will continue to review our policies and procedures to ensure they remain appropriate to the size and nature of our business.
Our approach includes:
- periodically reviewing this statement;
- monitoring supplier relationships where appropriate;
- reviewing internal policies and procedures; and
- considering opportunities to strengthen our due diligence processes as the business develops.
